Waiting for.....
the CRB. It's absolutely nerve racking. All my stuff is almost packed, got all my papers, references are fine, I have a room to rent - but the CRB takes ages. It's nice having some stitching time, but I just want to leave Germany and start working. I got myself a new passport and driving licence too, but I guess in future I just refuse showing them - or I put deliberately a thumb on the photo. Horrible!!! This 'hey, not bad, sweetie' kind of thought when you look in the mirror, vanishes when you look at photos of official documents. Is there a purpose behind? Do they want you to look like a drug addicted criminal??????

Copyright
Just imagine you belong to a group and a designer gives you the permission to stitch one of her projects. You stitch a part, show a picture, then you get the next. Very simple. So you get a few parts and then you get out of the group - and woohoo...miracles do happen....you have the whole (! do patterns are falling from the sky lately???) design outlined and because the designer 'made mistakes', you just alter the design so it suits you well, you rename it...and that's that. Unfortunately you forgot the tiny weeny little fact, that you should have created something totally new - not just altering a bit. NEW, ya' know? There should have been a difference to the original - a significant one! Want me to send you a copy of German copyright law? And just because a designer gives you a permission to alter a design, doesn't make it yours either. In your case, I cannot see you created something totally new. In your case I simply see copyright infringement. Oooh, I forgot...it's just for your own purpose....just for yourself...well, why do you publish a picture???? Making 'Bellenblaas' out of 'Blubberblasen' is nothing but translating a German word into Dutch and whatever you did to this design, which isn't your creation (in case you forgot), doesn't make it yours, nor do you have the right to rename the piece. If this issue wasn't so serious, I'd be cracking up laughing seeing your feeble designing talents. And for those who are curious: go and see the original, for the other you have to search blogger and webshots. I refuse to link to such people. And if anybody sees the pattern of 'Blubberblasen' - it's a pattern which can be purchased (that's where you give those funny notes called 'money', comes in funny round metal things too and in exchange for that you receive something....you might try it - usually it does work!). It's not a freebie. Somewhat this reminds me of the case with BMW and China - they built a car called CEO, which looks like the BMW X5 - and guess what will happen to the CEO? It's all ready to end up in the waste. Which is where it belongs, same should happen to Bellenblaas.

Total Mystery
Today I finished the 8th part of the 'Total Mystery'. It's so much fun to stitch!!
Did some frogging as well and replaced a colour, but that will happen again I guess.
No big problem, but the back looks a bit like a mess right now!
This project is stitched with the permission of the designer within the Yahoo group 'Marquoir'.
It is stitched as a mystery and the name of the designer will be announced at the end of the project.

Queen of the French Knots...again
Did get a little work done on my own little creation. I actually took the piece downtown and when
I stopped for a coffee, I got it out and did some knots :-) I just wish one of these days they will
look all the same!!!! On the other hand - the fabric is about 70 cm long and 30 cm high, so this
gives me certainly enough space for this little learning experiment!
I added a split stitch as well and got out my cross stitch book and looked at all those special stitches - lots of choice!!!

ManyYearsSampler
This is my progress with the ManyYearsSampler by Gudrun. I am trying catching up, but due to my hopefully-soon-to-come move to England, I didn't get much done as I hoped.
Anyway, I will stitch a little everyday on it now - so eventually I might catch up!
Friday I found some fabric for the 'Virtue' sampler, it's actually Aida, a fabric I am really not very fond of, but it has a nice creme colour, a small count (one strand of floss will do) and the best of it: it's soft!!! And it does look nice and I think the sampler will look good on it.
So this afternoon I prepared a little, like cutting etc., but I won't start stitching the sampler now,
I will keep this one for England!

Queen of the French knots
This is turning out to be my personal nightmare :-) Some time ago I thought I am all in for some little experiment, a kind of learning experience and I grabbed a piece of fabric and decided to 'do something'. What I had in mind were colourful paintings by Hundertwasser and I thought it would be nice trying to do something like it (I said 'something', right?!) stitchingwise. So it is an experiment, because I just have a vague picture in mind and it is definitely a learning experience, because I intend to use different embroidery techniques.
So what you are seeing is supposed to be a tree :-) and next to it there will be two more trees (and this is all I know by now). I haven't got a clue why I decided on French knots for the first one and I am really glad that the picture isn't the best, somewhat I can't get them to look all neat and tidy and maybe....the same.
I need those extra lives of my cats to get this project finished. By the way French knots -reminds me of beads. Those I get here down my LNS come in small plastic boxes and usually it's really difficult opening them, because the lids are so tight. But if you DROP a box.....well, ever dropped a box of beads?????

Tentakulum
Have you ever stitched with Tentakulum silks?? I haven't actually and got myself 4 skeins of the blue and 2 of the green, because they were incredibily cheap and they felt sooo good :-). Nevertheless I don't know yet what to stitch with them - to be honest, I am not a huge fan of variegated floss, for me it kind of spoils the fun. So right now I am just enjoying the feel of the floss LOL.....and thinking of a suitable pattern.
The colours are nice though!

What I stitch while the nation is soccer crazy
It's not that I like soccer, but it does give a good background for stitching actually. I mostly miss what's going on - actually when I look up nothing happens, but the time I do my stitching somebody is yelling 'goal'.
So while the EM is going on I stitch a mystery (well, it's not a mystery anymore) by Anne. The menu is on the left side and just click 'Mystery Sampler'. It's four small parts and right now I am stitching the second, which I hope to finish tomorrow evening, when there is another game - and the German team better wins it!!!!

England & a nice present
So here I am waiting to actually leave for GB. My future employer has all my references now, but we are waiting for the CRB to arrive. This can be a time from 3 weeks to 3 months.....just great. About 4 weeks are over now and I really hope it will arrive soon, because without the CRB I won't get the contract, thus no starting date. The waiting does annoy me as I have a room for to rent already and basically I am all ready for to leave. On the good side I have some time for my stitching now, which is fantastic, because I didn't get much done the past months and right now all my WISP's and WIP's are pretty much overwhelming.
I did get the 'Virtue' sampler chart as a gift for my birthday, which was really nice. Well, my mom said I could choose whatever I liked and tell you what...it was soooo difficult. I mean, there are sooooo many great patterns available! In case you don't know the chart, go here and scroll right down the bottom. It's a German shop and they have quite a good collection actually. I ordered it Thursday evening and received an email, they are going to send it out on Friday - and yippeee, it arrived on Saturday! I haven't started yet, just chose the colours but I am still a bit unsure about my fabric. But I do love this preparation bit a lot!!!
